In Pneuma Espiral, breath and spirit are almost synonyms, as among the stoics. The piece consists of one complete double spiral of growth and decrease. The growth section takes three expanding turns, and the decrease section, also three contracting turns.
The turns correspond to musical time segments in the simple proportion of whole numbers 1:2:3 for both expanding and contracting turns. As the first turn takes 42 quarter-notes, the others follow accordingly (84 and 126, then, in the reverse path, 126, 84 and 42). The turns are marked in the score by double measure bars. Rhythmic organization follows the principles of expanded modal rhythm applied to simple subdivions of the 14-beat time cycle (tāla). The melodic line evolves cyclically, each time with a greater complexity of its motivic/gestural structures in the expansion section, and their simplification in the contracting section.

Em Pneuma Espiral, respiração e espírito são quase sinônimos, como dentre os estóicos. A peça transcorre como uma espiral dupla de crescimento e decrescimento. A seção de crescimento leva três giros em expansão e a seção de descriscimento, também três giros em contração.
Os giros correspondem a segmentos de tempo musical compostos na simples proporção de números inteiros: 1:2:3, tanto para os giros da expansão quanto para os de contração. Enquanto o primeiro giro dura 42 semínimas, os outros seguem de acordo (84 e 126, e depois, no caminho ao reverso, 126, 84 e 42). Os giros são marcados na partitura por barras de compasso duplas. A organização rítmica segue os princípios do ritmo modal expandido aplicados a simples subdivisões do tāla (ciclo de tempo) de 14 pulsações. A linha melódica decorre ciclicamente, aumentando a complexidade das suas estruturas motívicas/gestuais na seção de expansão, e simplificando-as na seção de contração.
